Messy Church events are held every 2 or 3 months on a Friday afternoon. Each event is based on a different theme with lots of varied activities arranged for everyone to take part in. There are games, crafts, singing etc.   Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult (usually parent or grandparent).   A dedicated group of church members and friends organise these activities.

On arrival (from about 3.30) drinks and biscuits are available if required before joining in the activities. Adults are encouraged to take part along with their children who can choose lots of things to do. At 4.30 there is a short worship session in the church followed by sharing a meal together. This often takes place on blankets in the church in ‘picnic’ style. When the children leave they are given a ‘goody bag’ containing all the things they have made.

Some of the themes that we have used are – Creation, Lost & Found, Baptism, ‘Come to the picnic’ and ‘Hand in Hand’. To find out more about messy church, please email or telephone 01246-274021
